“Earmarks are one of the most corrupt, inequitable, and wasteful practices in the history of Congress,” several organizations including the Club for Growth, Americans for Tax Reform, FreedomWorks, National Taxpayers Union, Heritage Action, Citizens Against Government Waste and more wrote in a Tuesday letter to House GOP lawmakers. “Supporting Rep. McClintock’s amendment is your first opportunity to demonstrate to taxpayers that the election of a Republican majority in the House will be accompanied by a serious effort to restore and maintain fiscal responsibility.”

Earmarks are back and of course our fiscally responsible House members are loving it. What better way to buy support in your district then to hand out taxpayers money to pet projects to elected politicians throughout the district. Want to buy support from a Mayor, Supervisor, Commissioner or a Sheriff! Send them money, they love federal welfare. Because it’s federal money they don’t think it’s our tax dollars. After all, we are only 35 trillion in debt causing inflation to run rampant. On the campaign trail they love to talk about cutting spending but the allure of reelection they have to use all means to buy support. Next time you see your Congressman ask him how his earmarks cut spending!
